Two Craneship tugboats are included in the annual list of best projects

Icebreaker tugs Yuribey and Nadym constructed by Craneship shipyard by the project of Maritime Engineering Bureau Transship Design* were recognized as the best vessels of year 2018 according to the magazine International Tug & OSV, incorporating Salvage News (IT&O)**.

Both tugboats were built by order of Atomflot FSUE and are intended for work in the harsh conditions of the Far North. So far, these are the only vessels of their class designed for year-round work outside the Arctic Circle.

The tugs have outstanding operational characteristics: the possibility of long-term operation at temperatures up to -50°C, icebreaking capability of up to 1.5 m, double boards and double bottom along the entire hull of the vessel, a unique ratio of vessel dimensions to its power and much more. At the same time, Yuribey propellers are equipped with PEMS (Power & Energy Management System), which allows to minimize harmful emissions into the atmosphere.

The fact that two tugs were included in the rating of the largest specialized magazine marks that the Maritime Engineering Bureau Transship Design and the Craneship shipyard have managed to develop and implement truly unique projects, that were highly appreciated by industry experts and caused a natural interest.
